How can Gurmat Therapy psycho-spiritual model help you move forward with life after you have lost someone who has taken their own life? Dealing with the aftermath of suicide: After experiencing the death of more than one family member to suicide, Kalwant Kaur’s emotional health spiralled as she coped with the shock of the deaths and the immediate families’ responses. Through Gurmat Therapy, Kalwant was able to view the deaths through the psycho-spiritual lens and process her own emotions so that she was able to continue with life without being held back by feelings of guilt, anger, shame and helplessness. Traditional therapeutic interventions focus on looking back at what has happened and talking about the feelings. Gurmat Therapy focuses on breaking out of that mental cycle and working through the emotions so that you can come out on the other side and move forward with life, with full acknowledgement of what has happened. We will learn the science behind the emotions and how to cope when those emotions are unexpectedly triggered. The psycho-spiritual therapeutic process will help cultivate acceptance of what has happened and forge a path forward. Kalwant's full bio:
